Underfunded roads carry hidden costs

There’s a price attached to shortchanging transportation infrastructure in Texas. The costs can be measured both in time and money — time spent in traffic and money spent on auto repairs necessitated by roads that have been insufficiently maintained. TRIP, a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit organizationthat promotes transportation policies that relieve congestion, has calculated figures for both.
