Nueces County asked to pay $2.4M for US 77 conversion to I-69

The state recently committed $60 million to transition US Highway 77 in Nueces County to Interstate 69.  That expedites the project, causing Nueces County to scramble to put together its share of the funding. The county is responsible for 10 percent of the cost of acquiring rights-of-way. That’s estimated at $2.4 million.
