LUBBOCK, TX— On November’s ballot, voters will decide whether to pass Proposition 1, that would give an estimated 1.4 billion dollars to fix and maintain Texas Roads.

Local groups, Texas Good Roads and ASCO Equipment are teaming with Case Construction Equipment and Dire States to tour Texas to campaign for the proposition.

If passed, money will collected from Oil and Gas Tax Revenue will be put into the State Highway Fund, that is specifically made for construction and maintenance of roadways.

Founder of Dire States, Dan McNichols says an initiative like this is long overdue for not only Texas’ infrastructure, but the country’s as well.

“Texas was built on its road system, Texas knows roads like no other city, state, country and its a shame to see them in rough shape,” says McNichols. “Some mechanics would say ‘oh your breaks don’t work we’ll just make your horn louder.’ And that seems to be what we’re doing with our infastrcture, we’re just patching it.”

McNichols hopes to see Texas pass the proposition in the November 4th election and see more states follow as well.
