At a forum sponsored by the Texas Association of Business, the four candidates for the Republican nomination for the lieutenant governor’s office Wednesday abandoned the hot-button issues like abortion and illegal immigration that have dominated their campaigns to discuss such pressing infrastructure issues as how to fund pressing highway and water needs.
