The Future Of Texas Depends On Making Sure Infrastructure Remains A Priority!
In 2011, it was estimated that Texas needed an additional $5 billion per year to keep up with growth and maintain current transportation standards. In 2014 and again in 2015, more than 83% of Texas voted “YES” to make Texas roads and bridges safe and keep people moving without raising a single penny in taxes, fees, or tolls.
The funds voters approved have allowed the Texas Department of Transportation to set a new record for infrastructure projects currently under contract. Thanks to Props. 1 and 7, our state is investing more than ever in better, safer roads and bridges that will allow Texas to continue driving the nation forward. TxDOT is funding vital transportation projects across the state to ease congestion and repair roads and bridges, all while staying on the job during a pandemic.
