Texas leaders strongly voice support for Props. 6, 7, and 8:

Texans must be assured that we have adequate electricity to power their homes and businesses under any condition.

Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick

We must ensure that our grid is reliable, resilient and able to meet demand as Texas continues to grow. [The Texas Energy Fund] will incentivize new dispatchable generation to be built as quickly as possible.

Governor Greg Abbott

…We must bring new dispatchable generation (primarily new natural gas plants) online as soon as possible to make sure that Texans have reliable power under any circumstance.

Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick

Broadband infrastructure is essential in ensuring all Texans–urban and rural–have access to fast, reliable internet.

Governor Greg Abbott

As Comptroller, I have been charged with administering the Texas Broadband Development Office and bridging the digital divide in our state. Proposition 8 provides critical state funding to meet these goals and bring the kind of economic advantages, expanded healthcare options and educational opportunities that come with access to reliable, high-speed internet.

Comptroller Glenn Hegar

Water is literally the lifeblood of our communities. Proposition 6 puts future water supply development on the map for consideration by the Texas Legislature for years to come. The time is now to plan for the future. A Texas with water has no limits.

Senator Charles Perry

As Texas’ economy grows and leads America into the 21st century, our state’s water needs will outpace our supply. Additionally, the Texas Water Development Board estimates that 70% of our water line infrastructure is nearing, at, or beyond the end of its life expectancy [and] Texas cannot wait to address this growing problem.

Lieutenant Governor Dan Patrick

Texas is the economic envy of the nation, and businesses move here every day because they know Texas’ growth has only just begun. But to support that growth, we must have a reliable grid with adequate energy generation and modern infrastructure to meet the needs of our dynamic state. Proposition 7 takes a step forward to ensure Texas will make the investments necessary to keep the lights on and the economy growing.

Comptroller Glenn Hegar

Help make sure the Legislature continues to prioritize better, safer roads and bridges!

Move Over and Slow Down: Watch Out for Road Crews

In 2020, more than 22,000 traffic crashes occurred in work zones in Texas, resulting in 186 deaths, a 9 percent increase in traffic fatalities over the previous year. Another 680 people were seriously injured. Drivers and their passengers account for the majority of those involved in fatal work zone crashes.
TxDOT continues to work on increased safety measures and public outreach efforts to remind drivers of the state’s Move Over/Slow Down law. It requires drivers to
    1. Move over a lane or
    2. Reduce your speed to 20 mph below the posted speed limit when approaching a TxDOT vehicle, emergency vehicle, tow truck or utility vehicle stopped with flashing blue or amber lights on the roadside or shoulder.

Violation of this law can result in a fine of up to $2,000.

Let your Legislator know you want them to Keep The Promise and protect public infrastructure funding!

Tell your Legislator “Thanks!” for giving Texans an opportunity to vote on infrastructure funding this November.

The Texas Legislature has given Texans an opportunity to make infrastructure funding a priority in this November’s election. Constitutional Proposition 2 will allow counties to dedicate additional funding to infrastructure in blighted areas and keep Texans safe on the road while reducing time spent in traffic.

We’re thanking the Legislature for their work to #KeepthePromise and ensure infrastructure funding remains a priority. Join us and say “Thanks!” to your Legislators.

The Future Of Texas Depends On Making Sure Infrastructure Remains A Priority!

    Texans have spoken!

In 2011, it was estimated that Texas needed an additional $5 billion per year to keep up with growth and maintain current transportation standards.

    Vote “YES”.

In 2014 and again in 2015, more than 83% of Texas voted “YES” to make Texas roads and bridges safe and keep people moving without raising a single penny in taxes, fees, or tolls. The funds voters approved have allowed the Texas Department of Transportation to set a new record for infrastructure projects currently under contract. Thanks to Propositions 1 and 7, our state is investing more than ever in better, safer roads and bridges that will allow Texas to continue driving the nation forward. TxDOT is funding vital transportation projects across the state to ease congestion and repair roads and bridges, all while staying on the job during a pandemic.

What will Proposition 2 do for Texas?

In 2021, Texas legislators overwhelmingly supported HJR 99 to give Texans a vote on Proposition 2. In November 2021, Texans voted to give counties local control to finance the development (or redevelopment) of transportation or infrastructure in unproductive, underdeveloped, or blighted areas of their respective county.

Proposition 2 now gives us a great opportunity to make infrastructure a priority in our local communities. Now, communities across Texas will benefit from better, safer roads and bridges.
